Amid a slew of changes to Pakistan cricket, Moin Khan has been named the new head coach of the national side. The decision was taken at an eight-member management committee meeting, a day after PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf was dismissed and the board of governors dissolved.Moin will replace Dav Whatmore, whose contract expires this month. He had been appointed team manager before the tour to Zimbabwe in August 2013 but had recently been replaced by Zakir Khan.In other major changes, Aamer Sohail’s appointment as chief selector last week was denounced, and former Pakistan cricketer Azhar Khan was put in charge of an interim selection committee.The committee, headed by newly reappointed PCB chairman Najam Sethi, also endorsed Mohammad Akram’s two-year contract as Pakistan’s bowling coach. A new fielding coach was also appointed, with Shoaib Mohammad put in charge for the Asia Cup and World Twenty20.When Ashraf was in charge of the PCB, he had appointed Sohail as director game and development national cricket academy and given him an additional charge of chief selector. But the Sethi-led PCB denounced a majority of the decisions taken by Ashraf since Ashraf came to power last month. “The management committee decided in principle that any decision which lacks transparency or due process shall not be ratified,” said Sethi while briefing the press in Lahore after a five-hour meeting.”(Since) PCB service rules were not followed in the decision to appoint him [Sohail] … further, the record reflects that Aamer Sohail was never issued a letter of appointment for any post in PCB, therefore he held no post in PCB.”The appointments of Mr. Basit Ali (coach of regional cricket academies in Karachi) and Mr. Mohammad Ilyas (chief selector of junior teams and the women’s national team) were not in accordance with PCB Services Rules. All except the host nation’s cricket team.They play on the opening day, against Afghanistan, with the threat of elimination hanging over both teams. Since only one team will qualify from Group A of the World T20’s first round, result of this particular game will set the mood of the tournament in the country.For Afghanistan, the extra pressure on Bangladesh is an advantage. They have already taken the upper-hand by beating the home side in the Asia Cup earlier this month, and have been talking up this exact phenomenon at every opportunity. They would like to latch on every opportunity, particularly with Shapoor and Dawlat Zadran with the new ball.However, they have lost some momentum in their last four outings, particularly with the bat. Mohammad Shahzad, captain Mohammad Nabi, Samiullah Shenwari have to take control of the top, middle and lower-order while at the same time, Nabi and Shenwari have a tough job ahead of them with the older ball.The return from injury of Tamim Iqbal, Mashrafe Mortaza and Sohag Gazi will be a welcome boost for the home side, but the two senior pros still have be handled with care. Tamim has to be monitored daily for his neck strain while Mashrafe has to play with the sort of discomfort he has always played with. Gazi’s finger injury has healed considerably, and he is match fit too.Shakib Al Hasan will have a major say on the game too, particularly having claimed the No. 3 position in T20s. Bangladesh also have the luxury to pick either of Anamul Haque or Shamsur Rahman to open with Tamim, but a tougher call is required when they have to pick two among Mominul Haque, Sabbir Rahman and Mahmudullah. Conventional wisdom would be slightly harsh on Mominul but Sabbir and Mahmudullah are more useful after Mushfiqur Rahim in the batting order in T20s.Shakib will also be the key bowler for Mushfiqur, but it will be rotating the others around the lead left-arm spinner that will be the real test for the captain. Bangladesh will want a good day for Rubel Hossain and Abdur Razzak, which would balance out the bowling attack.Without taking a negative look at the outcome of this game, consider the possibilities for both sides. If Bangladesh win, they will have one foot in the second round, and a chance to ride on the wave of excitement and frenzy of a cricket-mad nation gone madder for its team. تشافي هيرنانديز ينتهي عقده مع برشلونة بنهاية الموسم الجاري في يونيو 2024، وذلك بعد أن تولى قيادة الفريق في نوفمبر 2021.

MS Dhoni has said that Virat Kohli’s ability to capitalize on the opportunities given by the team management sets him apart from many other players. Kohli is the leading run-scorer of this World T20, with 242 runs at a strike rate of 128.04. “Virat is somebody who is very different if you compare him to someone like a Rohit Sharma or a Yuvraj Singh or Suresh Raina,” Dhoni said. “That is how the character of the side builds. He has done fantastically well in the last few years. I feel he has been someone who has grabbed the opportunity to the best potential he had. Because more often than not you will see individuals, if they get five games they will say, ‘If I had two more games I would have done something’. In Tests in the same three-year period, Kohli leads the chart among Indians with 1721 runs in 41 innings at an average of 46.51 with six hundreds, although the second name on the list, Cheteshwar Pujara, has played significantly fewer innings – 27 – for his 1543 runs at 67.08 and has the same number of centuries.Dhoni said that in his initial years, Kohli would be gutted after failing to convert a good start and that had helped him become a consistent run-maker in recent times.”That’s something that has been of great help to him. وواصل: “نظام الدوري لن يتغير سيظل 18 ناديًا ومن دورين رغم وجود ضغوط كثيرة في البطولات، ويوم 7 سبتمبر ستكون هناك احتفالية خاصة بالدوري، وسنحدد الأسبوع القادم موعد القرعة، والدوري سينطلق في الأسبوع الأخير من شهر سبتمبر”.

وكشف: “سيكون هناك نقل تلفزيوني مختلف لبطولة الدوري، ودرع جديد سيصل للقاهرة في شهر ديسمبر القادم، هناك تطوير مستمر بالتنسيق مع اتحاد كرة القدم”.

وأكد: “رابطة الأندية كلفت أحمد دياب وعماد متعب بالتنسيق لحل كل المشاكل مع اتحاد الكرة، وهناك توافق تام حول كل الأمور التي تخص المسابقات”.

واستكمل: “الأهلي يرى أن منتخب مصر حسم صعوده لكأس أمم إفريقيا، والمواجهتين أمام إثيوبيا وتونس لا تحتاجا لتواجد لاعبي الأحمر، الأهلي دائمًا كان الداعم والمساند للمنتخبات الوطنية، ولذلك الاستعانة بلاعبيه في المعسكر القادم غير ضروري مطلقًا”.

وأتم بسؤاله حول نية إدارة المسابقات إيقاف اللاعبين بعد 4 بطاقات صفراء: “هناك أمور مطروحة بشأن العقوبات، وبعض الأمور قد تدرج في اللائحة، هناك بعض الإشكاليات التي سيتم تداركها في الموسم القادم”.
