Cheteshwar Pujara is in danger of missing out on the rest of the IPL season after injuring his knee while fielding in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s win against Kochi Tuskers Kerala last week. Pujara picked up the injury when his foot got stuck in the turf as he attempted a sliding save in the Chinnaswamy Stadium outfield. He played no further part in the game, though he managed to hobble back to the dressing room, refusing the assistance of a stretcher.A chat with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) physiotherapist, and some intial scans revealed that there was no swelling in the knee. Pujara has not travelled with his team to Jaipur for tonight’s game against Rajasthan Royals. He is currently in his hometown, Rajkot, and will return to Bangalore for an MRI scan later this week, after which the team management will take a call on his further involvement.This is not the first time Pujara has picked up an injury in the IPL. In the 2009 edition that was hosted in South Africa, he injured his left knee during a warm-up game in the lead-up to the tournament, and was forced out of action for six months. He managed to bounce back from that setback, and even forced his way into the Indian Test team on the back of a series of strong domestic performances. The timing of his injury, and the recovery time, could impact his participation in the upcoming tour of West Indies. The tour begins in early June, though the Test leg gets underway only on June 20.For the moment, Bangalore are not giving up on Pujara’s return. Ray Jennings, Bangalore’s coach, said that he would like to wait for the final scans before taking a decision. “There have been a few conflicting reports about Pujara’s status,” Jennings told ESPNcricinfo. “At first, it seemed quite serious, but now he feels a little better. We are awaiting the results of his scans at the NCA and will take a final call before the next game [against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday].”Pujara is a very good cricketer, and it will be a disappointment for him if he doesn’t recover. But it will open up opportunities for some of the other youngsters in the side.”Pujara has not had too many opportunities so far in the season and has scored only 34 runs in three innings in seven games, batting low in a powerful line-up. Despite the modest returns, Jennings recently suggested Pujara had the potential to replace the England-bound Tillakaratne Dilshan as an opener, but the injury has made things uncertain.Mohammad Kaif has been in and out of the Bangalore XI, and is the front-runner for Pujara’s lower middle-order spot. South African batsmen Rilee Rossouw and Jonathan Vandiar are the other candidates, though they are more likely to replace Dilshan at the top of the order.

وتحدث عن إصابة كوكا لاعب الفريق: “الكرة جاءت في وجه كوكا تقريبًا تعرض لمشكلة في عينه وسيذهب للمستشفى”.

وأتم: “طاهر محمد طاهر وارد يكون متواجدا معنا في المباراة المقبلة”.

James Anderson has declared himself fit to return to England duty at the Rose Bowl although still needs to come through two days of training before rubber-stamping his place back in the pace line-up on Thursday.Anderson was due to prove his fitness during Lancashire’s Twenty20 match against Worcestershire at New Road on Sunday but the game was abandoned without a ball bowled due to persistent rain. Instead, he arrived at the Rose Bowl on Monday for a net session and will push himself hard ahead of the Test.”I came down yesterday and had a bit of a bowl and felt fine after that, but the next couple of days are pretty important to get through,” he said. “I’ve felt fine for a couple of weeks now – I felt fine before the Lord’s Test. It would have been a risk to play in that game and I’ve had plenty of time to recover, get stronger, do a lot of bowling, so I’m feeling pretty comfortable.”Anderson bowled 28 overs in the first innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Cardiff, removing the experienced trio of Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and Thilan Samaraweera. He batted as nightwatchman in England’s first innings, but took no part in the England’s dramatic victory on the final day after picking up a grade one side strain, and missed the second Test at Lord’s.It meant Anderson missed out on bowling on another flat Lord’s pitch although he doesn’t expect much to come easily at the Rose Bowl either. “It’s going to be hard for us to get 20 wickets here, especially if the wicket is going to be as flat as it looks,” he said.”It’s going to be hard work for us but it’s something we’ve come up against in the past. Jonny Bairstow scored his maiden one-day century in his first innings at Lord’s as bottom-of-the-table Yorkshire dashed Middlesex’s hopes of moving alongside Sussex at the top of the Clydesdale Bank 40 Group A with a 22-run victory. Bairstow made 114 and shared partnerships of 85 in 15 overs with Jacques Rudolph, and 105 in 16 overs with Anthony McGrath, to lead Yorkshire to a total of 275 for 4 after Middlesex had surprisingly put them in to bat on a flatpitch.The target always looked too big for Middlesex but they made a great fight of it. Paul Stirling, the Ireland batsman, hit 68 off 47 balls, including 10 fours and a six, before he was caught at short cover off the left-arm spin of David Wainwright.Middlesex then slumped to 160 for 7 but Steven Crook hit 61 off 40 balls with five fours and two sixes, Tom Smith (27) joined him in an eighth-wicket stand of 66 in 11 overs, and they were driving Yorkshire to distraction until Smith drove Richard Pyrah to mid-off and Crook sliced Ryan Sidebottom to cover point.The match, which was originally scheduled to be played under floodlights, was only given the go-ahead at 8.30 in the morning with the start brought forward to noon following talks between both sides and the police in the wake of the recent rioting in London. وأتم: “تسجيل محمد شريف 50 هدفًا مع الأهلي أمر جيد جدًا، وقدم أداءً مميزاً في مباراة القمة”.
