Paulo César Carpegiani terá muito trabalho à frente do Flamengo em 2018, mas se mostrou muito entusiasmado em seu retorno ao Rubro-Negro. Almejando títulos para atual temporada, o treinador exaltou as decisões em que o time chegou em 2017, mas lembrou que nomes só entram para a história de um clube com conquistas.

– O Flamengo ano passado chegou. Mas o que marca são os títulos e isso que vamos tentar esse ano – comentou o treinador em sua apresentação.

Para ter sucesso em 2018, Carpegiani também espera contar com o apoio da torcida e a união dos rubro-negros com o time do Flamengo. Para destacar a força que vem das arquibancadas, lembrou de quando veio com o Coritiba encarar o Flamengo há dois anos atrás.

– Em 2016 joguei aqui (no Rio de Janeiro) com o Coritiba. Os primeiros quinze ou vinte minutos tomamos um chocolate. A torcida não parava. Eu queria parar o jogo e entrar no campo para parar a torcida. Íamos tomar uns 10. Só quando ela parou, deixamos o calor da torcida que era infernal de lado e saímos do sufoco. É essa união que eu quero ver, vamos mostrar dentro o campo para ter o apoio.

A mudança de técnicos começou cedo no Campeonato Brasiliense. O Gama anunciou na última segunda-feira a demissão de Carlos Alberto Dias, que deixa o clube após um jogo oficial na temporada de 2018.

Em entrevista ao “Correio Braziliense”, o treinador (que sai depois da derrota por 2 a 1 para o Bolamense) lamentou a atitude da diretoria e descartou problemas com o elenco:

– Não houve nada. A diretoria decidiu (a demissão) numa reunião hoje. Foi apenas uma rodada, mas, infelizmente, são os mandatários do futebol.

Em seguida, fez um desabafo sobre sua demissão:

– Tudo serve de aprendizado. Os diretores brincam com o futebol, mas saio pela porta da frente.

De acordo com o diretor de futebol, Vilson de Sá, a saída de Carlos Alberto Dias ocorreu porque ele estava fora do perfil pensado para o Gama em 2018:

– A torcida pressionou e a diretoria achou por bem mudar. O momento do Gama é inoportuno para ter um técnico iniciante”, detonou.

Aos olhos do dirigente, o treinador vinha apresentando falhas:

– Faltou comando, ainda mais em um elenco de medalhões. Ele (Carlos Alberto Dias é muito gente boa, tem futuro, mas não podemos aceitar uma derrota para o Bolamense.

O Gama anunciou seu sucessor no cargo já na manhã desta terça-feira. Ricardo Antônio, com vasta passagem pelo futebol candango, comandará a equipe.

Things have not improved this year with Middlesex winning just two out of nine games in the Championship and struggling in the Clydesdale Bank 40.It’s understood that Gilchrist, who was only due to play in home games for Middlesex, asked Angus Fraser, managing director of cricket at Middlesex, to play in more fixtures, which encouraged the club to hand him the captaincy while he was with the side. Neil Dexter will take over the captaincy after Gilchrist leaves, with his first game in charge being the Friends Provident t20 match away against Glamorgan on June 26.”Captaining Middlesex has been a huge honour for me,” said Udal. “There can be few better feelings than leading a team out at Lord’s and I have taken great pride in doing that over the course of the past three seasons.”Letting go of something like that is extremely difficult but Angus Fraser and I have agreed that this is the best way forward for the club. “They have identified who they wanted and gone out and got the business done quietly. There hasn’t been a big noise about it.

“The Chambers one, I don’t think anyone saw that coming. It was a total shock.

“It was an area that Gerrard felt he needed some depth. He can play in various different positions.

“He can do a job at full-back, centre-half etcetera. He’s very versatile and a good age too.

“He will want to kick on and show he has what it takes to be a regular starter.”

The Verdict: Smart signing

Villa were in need of a defender who could play at both centre-back and right-back, so bringing in Chambers, who has plenty of experience in that regard, seems to be a smart move.

Axel Tuanzebe cut short his loan spell in the Midlands to join Napoli, while Matty Cash is the only senior right-back at the club.

Chambers will now be able to provide important cover in both positions, and who knows, he could make his debut against Leeds tomorrow after Ezri Konsa missed the friendly with Molde at the weekend.

Esse projeto pode ser curto, médio ou longo prazo, mas tem que ter um caminho para seguir. Entender os profissionais que vão fazer parte desse processo. Qualquer planejamento sofre alterações, mas é preciso ter planejamento. É preciso tomar um rumo a partir de agora. Isso de forma unida para sair das situações difíceis. Estou disposto a fazer parte desse processo desde que haja um planejamento. é difícil ajudar em qualquer coisa sem saber para onde ir. Se não, quem está com a cara a tapa são os jogadores, eu e a comissão técnica. Desejo muito sucesso ao novo presidente e as pessoas da nova direção. Mas precisamos saber como o futebol vai ser gerido, saber se vai ter diretor de futebol, a quem vamos responder – cobrou o treinador, destacando como vão ser essas reuniões.

-Nesse primeiro momento, o que vai nortear a reunião são as posições carentes que estamos precisando. Mas no segundo momento não é só isso, é pensar numa forma mais macro de futebol. O investimento em recursos humanos para ter mais profissionais qualificados aqui, investimento em estrutura, a ligação com categoria… ou seja, vários pontos que o Vasco precisa discutir para o futebol ficar forte como um todo – completou.

Wolves are reportedly interested in signing Middlesbrough centre-back Dael Fry, with numerous clubs thought to be battling for his signature.

The Lowdown: Fry shines for Middlesbrough

The 24-year-old has stood out as one of Boro’s star players in recent years, producing a string of impressive performances at the heart of their defence. Fry has started 18 Championship matches for the Teessiders this season, averaging a whopping 4.2 successful aerial duels per game.

His current deal expires at the end of next season, so Boro are running out of time to receive a lucrative transfer fee for him.

The Latest: Wolves keen on move for Fry

According to Football League World, Wolves are among a host of clubs interested in signing Fry, with the likes of West Ham, Burnley, Brighton, Southampton and Brentford also eyeing him up.

Boro reportedly want £20m for the centre-back, though, so he won’t be leaving the Riverside Stadium on the cheap.

The Verdict: Good squad signing

Fry has been hailed as ‘outstanding’ by his manager Chris Wilder, and it would be intriguing to see how he might fare working under Bruno Lage in a well-drilled defensive unit at Molineux.
