Em evento na noite desta quinta-feira no salão nobre de General Severiano, o grupo “Mais Botafogo” lançou oficialmente a Chapa Ouro, que, como já é sabido, terá uma inversão nos cargos atuais: Carlos Eduardo Pereira, o presidente, concorre como vice. Já Nelson Mufarrej, atual vice, é quem tentará suceder CEP no triênio 2018-2020. A dupla, claro, bateu na tecla da continuidade do trabalho iniciado em 2015:

– Eu aprendi desde criança: em time que está ganhando não se mexe e vamos continuar juntos. Temos que dar esta continuidade, senão o Botafogo não vai sobreviver. Vamos continuar trabalhando com esta seriedade – prometeu Mufarrej, antes de acrescentar:

– Nosso programa é esse: dar continuidade. Não tem o que inventar. Não temos que contratar profissionais pois o que temos aqui já são ótimos – completou o candidato da situação.

Já o atual presidente preferiu falar da suposta ameaça que o clube sofre caso Mufarrej não seja eleito. Aos olhos do atual mandatário, que quer um pouco mais de descanso, a chapa de Marcelo Guimarães é um retrocesso para o clube. O pleito será no dia 25 de novembro, um sábado, em General Severiano.

– O retorno deles (Marcelo foi diretor de marketing do Botafogo na primeira gestão de Mauricio Assumpção) significa o pior para o Botafogo. Por isso nem se dizem oposição, se dizem alternativa. Greg Shipperd has thrown his support behind Cameron White to take over Australia’s Twenty20 captaincy

Victoria coach Greg Shipperd has said Australian batsman Cameron White should lead the national Twenty20 team following the retirement of Ricky Ponting from the format. White has led Victoria to all four finals of Australia’s domestic Twenty20 Big Bash tournament, but he will face stiff competition from Michael Clarke, who is the favourite for the Australian captaincy and also has Ponting’s support .”Cameron has been captain of the Australia A team, he is captain of Victoria and he is an outstanding potential captain of Twenty20,” Shipperd told the . “He has made his mark in the one-day series in England and he has an excellent record in Twenty20. With the World Cup coming up in April-May next year, it would be good to see him made captain for the Twenty20 games in Australia this season.”Clarke, the vice-captain, is tipped to take over the Test captaincy after Ponting quits the game for good. Shipperd added that it will be a good idea to start grooming White as a Twenty20 captain immediately, if Clarke too decides to relinquish at least one of the formats to prolong his career.”With no disrespect to Ricky Ponting or Michael Clarke, the Twenty20 game is so different that it should have a specialist captain,” Shipperd said. “Ricky has retired from this format to concentrate on Tests and one-day internationals, and Michael may face a similar decision in the near future.”It can be difficult for a captain moving from one format to another to get his head around all the nuances of the various games, and the hectic schedule of all forms of the game also has an impact with possible burn-out.”White has an impressive Twenty20 record as a batsman, with a strike rate of 151.67 in 46 domestic Twenty20s. He has represented Australia in eight internationals, with an average of 41.40. Cricket Australia is expected to announce Ponting’s successor at the conclusion of its board meeting next month.

West Brom are currently third in the Championship and struggling to close the gap to put pressure on Fulham and Bournemouth in the promotion places of first and second.

The side have had various injuries over the season so far, but most of those injured players have since returned and became available for the Huddersfield game in the weekend just gone, the only notable absence was that of Kenneth Zohore.

Although already out of favour in Valérien Ismaël’s side, the 27-year-old striker has picked up a muscle injury in training that will see him sidelined for the next few months.

Speaking about Zohore before his injury woes, Ismael did hint that the forward could grasp an opportunity to earn his place in the side, but did not manage to mark his mark due to injuries ever since;

“At the minute it’s early – you never know what can happen.

“For Ken, it’s about patience, work, he wants to play every time with the under-23s which is a good sign. He wants to stay in the rhythm. He trains well. He is our player so everyone needs to be involved, stay focused and involved and you never know.”

This fresh injury won’t be too much of a concern to West Brom in terms of playing the forward, because he has seemingly had one eye on the door since the summer with links with a move away from the club.

Zohore has had 23 appearances, five goals and one assist for the side since he joined in 2019 from Cardiff City.

However, with the transfer window coming up in a few weeks, the opportunity to offload Zohore, who has cost the club the best part of £10.7m in transfer fees and wages, is looking unlikely in this fresh injury blow to the player, and could hinder the Baggies opportunities to get suitors for the player or a good offer on the table.

Ex Albion striker Kevin Phillips spoke out on Zohore’s future and his predictions for January.

“I think he’ll move on [in January],” Phillips told West Brom News.

“It’s clear that he’s not in Ismael’s plans. I know he played against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup but ultimately, his future lies somewhere else.

“Your guess is as good as mine as to where he goes. I think he’ll just want to go and play football, whether that’s abroad or he drops down to League One.”

Consider how poor his performances have been and his latest setback is sure to leave supporters rather angry that they might not be able to cut down on his salary in the winter, something that will no doubt prove important when welcoming new additions in their bid for promotion.

Manchester United are reportedly one of several sides eyeing up a move for Rennes midfielder Lovro Majer as the January transfer window fast approaches.

What’s the story?

According to French outlet Homme du Match (as relayed by the Daily Mirror), United are keen to secure the 23-year-old’s services over the coming months, although fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur are currently at the front of the queue.

The report states that: “According to our information, the most interested club is Tottenham who have already placed the player at the top of their list of priorities for next season.

“Other clubs are also interested in the image of Manchester United or Bayern Munich, making it difficult to retain the player for many seasons at Rennes.”

Rangnick’s next Sabitzer

If the United hierarchy are able to secure Majer’s signature over the winter, then they could land Rangnick his next Marcel Sabitzer after the pair worked together during their time at Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig.

The Croatia international is in the mould of Sabitzer, now at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, with the pair both able to unlock opposition defences with dangerous dribbles and perfectly-weighted through balls. The Bayern midfielder is mesmeric, bagging 13 times and supplying 11 in 77 outings under the new United boss.

Despite only arriving at the Roazhon Park last summer, Majer has already established himself as one of the most promising prospects in Ligue 1.

In his 23 appearances for his former and new employers this term, the £11.7m-rated magician has bagged six goals and provided a further six assists for his teammates, playing a pivotal part in their rise to second place in the top-flight table.

Majer’s outstanding exploits for Rennes have caught the eye of several impressed onlookers, including talent scout Jacek Kulig, who dubbed him “phenomenal” after enjoying a stellar run of form throughout November.

With Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba all out of contract next summer, Rangnick could be forced into the transfer market for a new attacking midfielder, and Majer, who has 38 career goals, appears to be an ideal replacement.

Only time will tell if Red Devils are able to secure the youngster’s signature, but it’s a deal that could get the 20-time English champions back on track.

Mohammad Sami is confident of staging a comeback to the Pakistan team, following his ICL stint, through his performances for Karachi Blues in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.”I feel there is still cricket left in me and that is why I am playing on the domestic circuit for Karachi Blues – to win back my place in the team,” Sami told . “Though I bowled really well in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, I managed just 13 wickets. I am really working hard to excel and get the attention of selectors.”The 28-year-old fast bowler joined the unofficial league after 33 Test and 83 ODIs for Pakistan. He has taken 81 Tests wickets at an expensive 51.37, including eight on his debut against New Zealand. Por conta disso, Fla chegou a pedir a permanência do garoto ao invés de liberar para a Seleção Brasileira Sub-17, que está disputando o Mundial da categoria na Índia.

أكد شريف صالح عضو رابطة الأندية المصرية المحترفة، أنه يميل إلى تغيير الشكل الحالي لمسابقة الدوري الممتاز، مُشيرًا إلى إمكانية تعيين لحنة انضباطية خاصة تُعاقب أي رئيس ناد في حالة صدور أي تجاوزات منه.

وقال شريف صالح في مداخلة هاتفية لبرنامج “بوكس تو بوكس”، على فضائية “ETC “: “نحن ممثلون عن الأندية كرابطة ومن الطبيعي أن توافق الأندية على أي قرار نتخذه”.

وتابع: “لم نحدد حتى الآن شكل الدوري الممتاز الموسم المُقبل، لأننا مجلس إدارة جديد ومن الطبيعي أن نعقد أكثر من جلسة لتحديد شكل المسابقة، ومن الوارد أن يكون هناك تغيير في التنظيم”.
