This should be an exciting time for Sunderland.A number of weeks ago it was reported that Stewart Donald had finally agreed a deal to sell the club. That alone should be enough to make the Stadium of Light rejoice.His replacements are set to be Juan Sartori and Kyril Louis-Dreyfus but with the finer points of the deal yet to be wrapped up, they are still waiting in the shadows.A change of ideas will do the world of good for Sunderland but since that news emerged, the Black Cats haven’t won.They lost to MK Dons and have drawn their last two games with Doncaster and Fleetwood. Typically, they failed to hold their lead on Friday evening and as a result, there is increased pressure on Phil Parkinson.What could be beneficial is a transfer window, especially with Lynden Gooch now out for the next month or so. Fortunately, the January market is nearly upon us.Although Sunderland won’t be able to flex their financial muscles too much because of the EFL’s salary cap, there is one player who has been mentioned in the last few months.Taking to Twitter in September, former Sunderland man Stephen Elliott proposed that the club should bring back their ex-academy product Sam Greenwood.

The forward was one of the first academy players to leave under Stewart Donald’s watch, a list that has become worryingly long.

He left for Arsenal and then to make matters worse, Sunderland missed out on a financial windfall because he joined Leeds last summer.

Greenwood has been sublime since heading to Yorkshire, scoring five goals in seven Premier League 2 outings. Coincidentally, he also scored a hat-trick against Sunderland’s U23s. Even at academy level, they are being embarrassed.

With Patrick Bamford in such good form for Leeds – scoring seven Premier League goals – it’s unlikely that Greenwood will see any senior action, so what better way to build your experience than by coming back to Sunderland on loan?

Elliott has already suggested it and we see great logic behind his thinking. A quick and dynamic forward, he’d offer a vastly different option to the likes of Danny Graham and Charlie Wyke – two much slower strikers.

Pace is a key ingredient missing from the Sunderland attack and Greenwood would add that in abundance.

Paul Bryson, someone who worked with the youngster at Sunderland, spoke highly of him earlier this year: “He always had the ability to unlock defences. Very good technically and excellent from dead-ball situations.”

With the attack far from flowing in this Sunderland team, a temporary swoop for someone already admired by so many in the north-east would be handy.

Of course, Leeds may have desires of keeping him at Elland Road but it’s worth pursuing.

According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa transfer target Jesse Lingard is ready to leave Manchester United in the upcoming January window.

What’s the story?

The England international has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford this season, with the signing of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek further dropping him down the pecking order – in fact, he’s made just two appearances in total, and both of them came in the Carabao Cup.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Lingard – who has been touted as a potential option for Villa recently – is ready to ask United to let him leave the club in January unless they exercise their option on him before the end of the year.

The 27-year-old’s current contract comes to an end in the summer, and would thus be able to leave on a free transfer, but it appears he is ready to cut ties with United much sooner than that.

Shades of Barkley

Whilst Lingard’s wretched form over the past couple of seasons in particular has seen his career take a nosedive – he’s managed just five Premier League goals since the start of the 2018/2019 campaign – it doesn’t detract from the fact Villa could potentially revive a player who’s made 24 appearances for England.

Dean Smith has already shown he has the Midas touch with the way he has revitalised Ross Barkley, another promising England talent who seemed to be floundering at Chelsea.

Sometimes, all it takes is a change of scenery and a fresh start for a player to get back to their best, and current United coach Michael Carrick has gone on record to reveal his admiration of the kind of “unique” abilities Lingard has.

He said: “I think his movement is excellent. It’s something that sounds quite simple, but it’s difficult to defend against. He senses where the space is and how to use it. I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s a dribbler with skills and tricks but he’s dynamic.

“How he plays, he is unique in some ways. You don’t see so much of that now as everyone wants to get on the ball. Off the ball, he’s very effective.”He may be a £100k-a-week outcast at Old Trafford, but Villa could land a shock bargain by getting Lingard on the cheap.

Nesta semana, a Caixa Econômica Federal anunciou alguns clubes que serão patrocinados pelo banco em 2016. Entre eles estavam Flamengo, Atlético-MG, Cruzeiro, Sport, CRB, Vitória, Chapecoense, Figueirense e Atlético-PR. Alguns torcedores do Vasco acharam estranho não ver o nome do clube, que negocia a renovação do contrato, nesta lista. O problema é que a diretoria cruz-maltina ainda não chegou em um acordo sobre os valores que vai receber nesta temporada.

O grande causador deste impasse é o rebaixamento do clube, que disputará a Série B em 2016. O LANCE! apurou que o objetivo do Cruz-Maltino é manter os R$ 15 milhões anuais que estavam no antigo contrato, mas a Caixa quer diminuir este valor para R$ 12,5 milhões (mesmo valor que será pago a Atlético-MG e Cruzeiro), algo que o clube não pretende aceitar.

A alegação do Vasco é de que na administração passada o clube não tinha força política para negociar mais transmissões pela TV aberta, uma boa fonte de receita. A Caixa alegou o resultado ruim do time em campo na última temporada para querer diminuir o valor do patrocínio. O clube usou a comparação dos resultados dos cinco primeiros meses de 2014 e 2015 para barganhar. Já que em 2015 o time teve mais êxito neste período. A alegação do banco federal é de que a exposição será menor.

As negociações estão momentaneamente paralisadas por conta da cirurgia do presidente Eurico Miranda, responsável direto pelas conversas. O mandatário vascaíno deu entrada em uma clínica no Rio na última quarta-feira e foi submetido a uma lobectomia (que é uma abordagem cirúrgica do câncer de pulmão). Eurico se recupera bem e tem previsão de alta para o próximo domingo, retornando as atividades normais em São Januário na segunda-feira. A tendência é de que as negociações tenham uma definição já na semana que vem.

وبسؤاله عن دوره في تولي الجوهري تدريب منتخب مصر قبل التأهل لكأس العالم 1990؟، أردف: “كنت مقتنع بالجوهري كمدرب، وهو أكد لي أن طموحه كبير ويأمل في تدريب منتخب مصر، وعلاقتي كانت متميزة بالمسؤولين ورشحت الجوهري، وبعد ذلك بيوم تم اتخاذ القرار بتعيينه”.

وأشار: “ولكن بعد ذلك شعرت أنني أديت رسالتي، وكان لدي اعتراض على أسلوب التعامل بيني وبين الجوهري، وقلت له أنت أهم مني لمنتخب مصر ورحلت عن منصب مدير الكرة بالمنتخب”.

وأوضح: “قدمت استقالتي من إدارة منتخب مصر في مرة ثانية وقمت برد 87 ألف جنيه هو عبارة عن ما تقاضيته خلال تواجدي، اعتراضًا مني على أسلوب التعامل، وزوجتي حزنت بسبب أنني أعدت الأموال، بعدها قدمت إعلانًا ومرت الأيام وكنت لا أتحدث في الأمور المادية”.

واختتم: “بعد فترة جاء لي شخص وأعطاني شيك وتأسف لي عن التأخير، ورحل ففتحت زوجتي الظرف فوجدت الشيك وسجدت على الأرض، وإذ فجأة تجد نفس المبلغ الذي أعدته إلى اتحاد الكرة هو في الشيك من الإعلان”.

O exame mostrou uma lesão de um pequeno músculo da coxa, em uma musculatura secundária, de pouca ação no dia a dia – destacou o Dr. Sérgio Freire Júnior, médico do Cruzeiro, ao site do clube.

Ainda de acordo com Sérgio Freire, a lesão constada em Willian não é grave. A tendência é que ele fique à disposição para o próximo dia 14, quando a Raposa receberá o Tupi, no Mineirão, pela terceira rodada do Mineiro.

– Ele vai demorar poucos dias para se recuperar dessa lesão, não ficará muito tempo afastado. Só não jogará amanhã (quarta-feira) devido à proximidade do jogo, mas em breve estará retornando – completou.

Spurs captain Hugo Lloris has been linked with a move to PSG recently, following the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino at the Ligue 1 club, and Daniel Levy must offer the Frenchman a new contract to ensure that he stays with the North London club.

According to The Sun, the French champions will target Lloris in the summer, as Pochettino looks to sign some of his old Spurs players with his new club.

The 34-year-old has been a mainstay in Spurs’ side for nearly a decade, with the Lilywhites having signed the shot-stopper from Olympique Lyon in 2012.

He has gone on to make 346 appearances for the club, conceding 376 goals and keeping 119 clean sheets in that time.

However, Lloris has admitted in the past that he is unlikely to finish his career with Spurs and PSG could offer the experienced goalkeeper a final payday before he retires, and with his Spurs contract only set to run until 2022, Levy could hardly demand an excessive fee for the £10.8 million rated ‘keeper.

After a game against Crystal Palace earlier this season in which he made an error, Jose Mourinho spoke highly of the former Lyon man, calling him ‘the best goalkeeper in the Premier League.’

With Spurs having Joe Hart and Paulo Gazzaniga as the current back-ups to Lloris, both of whom are error-prone, Levy must offer the captain a new deal with the club in an attempt to quash the interest from PSG.

Recent reports have suggested that Spurs are keen to offer new deals to both Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane but considering Lloris has just a year and a half left on his deal and is now attracting interest, he arguably should be Levy’s priority.

The 34-year-old currently earns £100k per week with the North London club and considering he is club captain, he is obviously a leader on and off the pitch, something which will be invaluable to Mourinho as he seeks to end Spurs’ barren trophy run this season.

Therefore, Levy must work quickly to get Lloris tied down to a new deal before it is too late.
