Having picked up a resounding 3-1 win over Burnley a couple of weeks ago, the international break arguably could not have come at a worse time for Newcastle.

Steve Bruce would have been hoping to keep the momentum going, but instead, has had to watch several of his first-team stars go off on international duty.

But with the Premier League resuming this weekend, the Magpies boss will be keen to ensure that his side picks up from where they left off, as they take on Manchester United at St James’ Park.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side suffering a 6-1 thrashing at home to Tottenham, the obvious thought would be that United are there for the taking.

But Newcastle will have to be wary of a wounded Red Devils, and ahead of the game, are already facing a significant blow to their chances of picking up another famous victory just like last season.

Summer signing Jamal Lewis picked up a slight injury whilst off with Northern Ireland, with boss Ian Baraclough shedding light on the situation earlier this week.

Speaking ahead of their clash against Norway on Wednesday night, he said: “The only one who isn’t travelling is Jamal Lewis. He’s gone to have a scan on his ongoing Achilles niggle, but it’s nothing to worry about. It’s improving. He mightn’t be able to play the two games so quickly, so it’s something I felt Newcastle had in mind for the player anyway.”

If you’re of a Newcastle persuasion, then hearing the words “Achilles” and “scan” isn’t the most promising of news. And whilst Baraclough was keen to put a positive spin on things, there’s no taking away from the fact Lewis is surely a major doubt for the game against United on Saturday.

And when you look at the 22-year-old’s performances for his new side this season, it becomes that much more clear why Newcastle could struggle immensely in his absence.

He has featured in every single Premier League game this season for the Magpies, and has averaged an impressive 0.8 key passes per match – good numbers for someone at left-back.

And in games across all competitions, he’s averaged 1.5 tackles per match, and that ability to be effective for his team both going forward and going back gives Newcastle an added dimension. With United having players who can be devastating on the counter-attack with their places – the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to name a couple – ensuring the transitions are well dealt with is crucial is to the Magpies’ chances.

Losing Lewis would be the kind of blow that could have major consequences on Saturday.

And in other news, this Newcastle flop has thrived since his St James’ Park exit.

وقال أحمد أبو عبلة، طبيب الفريق في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي، إن الأشعة التي أجراها الشناوي أثبتت التئام التمزق بنسبة تصل إلى 60%، وهو أمر جيد يشير إلى تحسن حالة اللاعب.

وأوضح أبو عبلة أن الشناوي يقوم بتنفيذ برنامج استشفائي وتدريبات علاج طبيعي خلال الفترة الحالية حتى يتعافى تمامًا من الإصابة، تمهيدًا للعودة للمشاركة في التدريبات وفقًا للمدة الزمنية المحددة له من البداية.

وكان الشناوي قد تعرض لإصابة بتمزق في العضلة الخلفية أثناء مشاركته مع منتخب مصر في مباراة ليبيا الأخيرة في التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس العالم.

With Aston Villa’s man of the hour Jack Grealish making a well-deserved start for England on Thursday night, fans of the Midlands side may not have been paying too close of an attention on how John McGinn was faring north of the border.

The midfielder was lining up for Scotland in a crucial play-off game in the race to qualify for the European Championships next summer, with the Tartan Army’s clash against Israel going all the way to the wire and into penalties.

And whilst Grealish may be the one to pick up all the headlines on Friday morning, McGinn arguably outshone his Villa teammate with a man of the match display in his country’s shoot-out victory.

Despite not getting on the score-sheet, the 25-year-old helped lead the charge for Steve Clarke’s side, playing in a number ten role just behind Oliver McBurnie and Lyndon Dykes.

Even though he played the full 120 minutes, McGinn was a bundle of energy all throughout, and was a constant danger for the Israeli defence with his ability to get in and around the box and fire away shots – his four attempts on goal were the most of any Scot.

As well as trying to find a breakthrough himself, the Villa ace showed his more creative side too, providing two key passes and boasting an impressive 91% passing accuracy.

Then, when the shoot-out came around, McGinn proved his nerves of steel by stepping up to take the first penalty, which he emphatically dispatched.

Whilst Grealish picked up his own man of the match award for England, it does come with the slight caveat that it was in a friendly game. McGinn’s performance on the other hand was in a pressure-cooker elimination game.

Dean Smith would surely have been left raving at his Scottish dynamo’s magic display.

وقال القيعي: “سر عظمة الأهلي أنه أنشئ على أسس وطنية، وتحكمه قواعد وتقاليد صارمة، ‏وتوالى على قيادته مجموعة من القادة تحولوا إلى رموز.. الأهلي هو هارفارد الرياضة”.

وأضاف: “حسن حمدي تدرج في كافة المناصب شأنه شأن كل ‏القيادات بالنادي، إلى أن وصل إلى مقعد رئيس النادي وتحقق في عهده العديد من الألقاب التي يفخر ‏بها كل أهلاوي”.

وأكمل: “إذا تحدثنا عن حسن حمدي، الذي دخل ‏الأهلي ناشئًا والملقب بوزير الدفاع، كان الأذكى في مكانه، واعتزل في سن صغير بعد أن ‏تعرض لإصابة، في اجتماعاته دائمًا ما كان يطالبنا بتذكر ومراجعة ما تم في الاجتماع ‏الماضي”.

وأشار إلى أن حسن حمدي عمل مديرًا للكرة، بتكليف من مجلس الإدارة آنذاك، وكان أول ملمح من شخصيته، أنه لا يفعل شيئًا إلا باللوائح، لأنه من المدرسة التي تخرج فيها الكابتن صالح ‏سليم، تلك المدرسة العريقة في الإدارة.‏

وسرد القيعي المزيد عن حسن حمدي قائلًا: “مشوار حسن حمدي بدأ ‏باللوائح، لأن كل شيء لديه منظم، مثل مديري المؤسسات على مستوى العالم، في زمن لم يكن فيه ‏احتراف ولكنه تصرف باحترافية في السبعينيات عندما كان مديرًا للكرة، فكان يلجأ إلى ‏اللائحة دائمًا للفصل في كافة الأمور، ولهذا تعلمنا منه النظام والإخلاص والصدق”.

كما تحدث القيعي عن الدكتور حسن مصطفى رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة اليد، مؤكدًا أنه ‏كان قائدًا منذ أن كان مدربًا للمنتخب المصري.

وأضاف: “كرة اليد شهدت عصرًا جديدًا في الإدارة تحت قيادته، كان يضع القوانين بمفرده ‏سواء على المستوى الفني أو الإداري، الجميع كانوا في حالة غضب في البداية بسبب صرامة ‏هذه القوانين ولكننا الآن نجني ثمار جرأته”.

واختتم: “تكريم اليوم هو أبسط شيء للدكتور حسن، وأتمنى ‏أن يحالفه التوفيق والسداد خلال الفترة المقبلة”.

Após o acerto com a Klar, o Timão concentra esforços nas renovações com a Tim, que estampa seu logotipo nos números do uniforme alvinegro, e com a Caixa Econômica Federal, patrocinadora master do clube. Os contratos se encerram em janeiro e fevereiro, respectivamente, e dificilmente o banco estatal seguirá investindo no futebol. Atualmente, o Timão recebe cerca de R$ 30 milhões da Caixa por ano.

O superintendente de marketing do clube, Gustavo Herbetta, prometeu surpresas para 2016 e disse que espera anunciar novos parceiros nas próximas semanas. Ele também reforçou a ideia de que o Corinthians não faz acordos pontuais.
– A gente acredita que patrocínio pontual só denigre o futebol como meio de ativação, de parceria para um anunciante e benefício de negócio para uma marca. A gente procurou ir atrás de patrocinadores que acreditam no esporte, de médio a longo prazo, como foi com a Klar, que fizemos um acordo por dois anos. Os outros que estamos negociando também é nessa linha, de ser um contrato de no mínimo um ano. A gente vai trabalhar de uma forma diferente em 2016, é uma surpresa, ainda não está definido – afirmou Gustavo Herbetta.

O anúncio com a Klar aconteceu na manhã desta quarta-feira, no CT Joaquim Grava, onde compareceram representantes da empresa e atletas que ela patrocina, como jogadoras de vôlei do Esporte Clube Pinheiros e o piloto Luciano Burti.

A number of Everton supporters have been urging Carlo Ancelotti to drop defender Yerry Mina for Mason Holgate when he returns to fitness, after their first defeat of the campaign at Southampton.

Mina has started all six of Everton’s opening Premier League matches and the defender has helped the Toffees get off to a strong start to the campaign. The Colombian has averaged 1.8 interceptions and 4.3 clearances per match so far in the Premier League this term (Sofascore).

However, after recording a clean sheet on the opening day against Tottenham Hotspur, Everton have now shipped nine goals in their last five league matches. Mina has made one error leading to a goal and only averaged 0.5 tackles per game (Sofascore), which has now seen some question his place in the side.

Holgate enjoyed an excellent season last term for the Toffees, with the Englishman averaging 1.6 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 3.5 clearances per match (Sofascore). However, he has been out of action with a foot injury sustained in pre-season. Ancelotti had suggested after the first game of the season that he could be out for around eight to 12 weeks.

O assunto foi tema de debate envolvendo os presidentes de Grêmio, Romildo Bolzan Jr., e Santa Cruz, Alírio Moraes, e do vice-presidente de finanças do Internacional, Pedro Affatato, durante a ExpoFut, que ocorreu na Arena Corinthians, em São Paulo.

– A ruptura política dentro da CBF é uma saída e o primeiro passo é saber como romper isso. Acredito que ela possa ocorrer mas vai demorar pela forma corrompida que ela foi montada – afirmou o presidente do Grêmio, criticando o o sistema de colégio eleitoral tanto da CBf como também para as federações.
Já o presidente do Santa Cruz, time que volta para a elite do futebol após 10 anos, aponta que o momento ruim deve-se muito pela falta de credibilidade do futebol brasileiro.

– Sou a favor da implementação de um novo sistema de gestão pois é inegável que vivemos uma crise por conta da falta de credibilidade que instalou em nosso futebol – comentou o dirigente pernambucano.

O maior poder para os clubes e a formação de ligas para organizar os torneios no país foi uma das soluções apontadas para melhorar o cenário do futebol brasileiro. Segundo o vice-presidente de finanças do Inter, o momento é ideal para que os clubes se fortaleçam frente as iniciativas da CBf.

– Temos que aproveitar esse momento para tentar de forma unida mudar esse cenário ruim do futebol brasileiro – disse Affatato.

“O processo de auto-organização por parte dos clubes é a saída para a crise do futebol brasileiro”, Romildo Bolzan Jr.

Tanto Inter quanto Grêmio fazem parte da Liga Sul-Minas-Rio, que tenta tirar do papel a Primeira Liga já para a próxima temporada. Entretanto, a avaliação é que ainda há muito a caminhar para que os clubes tenham em mãos a organização do principal torneio de futebol do país.

– O processo de auto-organização por parte dos clubes é a saída. Mas, lamentavelmente, esse processo é muito difícil por conta dos vícios que há nas eleições para as entidades que organizam o nosso futebol – apontou Bolzan Jr.

وأوضح ساها: “لا تفهموني خطأ، كمهاجم أنا مندهش من جودة كريم خلال العامين الماضيين، كنت حقًا أنصحه، لقد كان مذهلًا، ما فعله من أجل فرنسا … يمكنك أن تسأل أي شخص، خاصة بالنظر إلى أن الضغط عالٍ للغاية، هناك الكثير مما يحدث”.
