Jose Mourinho is determined to bring Arkadisuz Milik to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, no matter the cost.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are prepared to send Lucas Moura in the other direction to try and persuade Napoli to part ways with the striker in the summer.

Mourinho is keen to find a backup for Harry Kane and has identified Milik as a suitable candidate. Spurs believe that the Polish international could be the perfect replacement if Kane leaves north London in the near future.

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis admires Moura and tried to sign him last year, only to find that his request was blocked by former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite his hat-trick heroics in the Champions League in 2019, Moura has struggled for Spurs this season, as he last scored for the club back in early February. He was the subject of major controversy after VAR disallowed Harry Kane’s equaliser in the defeat to Sheffield United as the ball was judged to have brushed his arm.

Milik’s contract is set to expire next year and he does not intend to renew it anytime soon. The Pole has often been compared to Robert Lewandowski, although it is fair to say he hasn’t quite hit the same heights as his esteemed compatriot as of yet, with the Bayern Munich striker netting an astounding 407 goals in 586 club career appearances.

Nevertheless, Milik has still scored 10 goals in 20 games in Serie A this season, taking three shots per game, with a passing accuracy rate of 82.9% (via WhoScored).

Spurs’ offer for Milik may not be enough as his agent Vincenzo Morabito recently played down talks of the Poland international moving to north London in the summer. Moreover, De Laurentiis currently values the Serie A star at €50m (£45m), whereas Moura’s valuation is priced at £28m by Transfermarkt.

Needless to say, Daniel Levy will likely have to splash the cash at some point as negotiations continue, amid interest from Atletico Madrid and Juventus. Whether he will be willing to spend so far above Milik’s apparent market valuation is another matter.

دي يونج أهدر فرصة هدف محقق قبل 10 دقائق من نهاية الشوط الثاني والمباراة برأسية من منطقة الجزاء تمر فوق مرمى غرناطة.

ظل برشلونة يبحث عن التعادل، وخرج بوسكيتس ودخل بيكيه بأدوار هجومية، بالإضافة لـ ريكي بويج، ولكن جاء الهدف في الدقيقة 90 عن طرق نجم الفريق رونالد أراوخو الذي ارتقى فوق الجميع وسجل التعادل بعد عرضية البديل جافي.

بهذه النتيجة يصبح رصيد برشلونة 8 نقاط في المركز السابع، بينما غرناطة في المركز 18 بـ 3 نقاط.

ويستعد الزمالك لمباراة توسكر الكيني في ذهاب دور الـ32 لدوري أبطال إفريقيا، والمقرر لها أحد يومي 15 أو 16 أكتوبر المقبل.

Luckily, it seems as though they have a target in mind, but the Hoops’ first bid for Ivan Toney was some way short of what they may have to pay, and Kieran Devlin gave an update on what Celtic will have to cough up to land their man.

What’s been said then?

The Athletic journalist was hosting a Q&A session ahead of the new season, and as you would expect, a number of questions were asked about the Scottish champions’ transfer business, and Devlin had the answers.

“Celtic had a bid of £5 million for striker Ivan Toney turned down, with Peterborough seemingly wanting a fee for around £10 million. Apart from that, plenty of rumours but not sure how much substance is to them.”

Not good enough

Later in the Q&A Devlin would state that he doesn’t see why Celtic would sign Toney unless he was going to be Edouard’s replacement, and you have to question whether or not he’d actually be good enough to fill that void.

Toney may have scored 24 goals this season, but that’s at League One level, and that surely isn’t really where Celtic want to be shopping around.

This is a club that will be in the Champions League again next season, and if they have aspirations of getting out of the Group Stages or even dropping into the Europa League by virtue of finishing third in a group, they need more than a League One striker spearheading their attack.

On top of that £10m for a player from that level is outright preposterous, especially when you consider Peterborough sold Jack Marriott to Derby for an initial £3m after scoring 27 goals in the division, three more than Toney managed this term.

A comissão técnica iniciou a semana com a expectativa de contar com Arouca no domingo, mas o retorno do camisa 5, fora há um mês por lesão muscular na região posterior do joelho direito, deve ficar para o dia 18, contra o Atlético-PR. Cleiton Xavier, que se recupera de lesão na panturrilha esquerda e até chegou a trabalhar com o grupo na semana passada, acompanhou o volante na sala de musculação.

Os atacantes Cristaldo e Dudu também ficaram na parte interna. Os dois estão suspensos e aprimoraram a forma física. O argentino porque passou a quarta-feira com febre e não treinou, e o camisa 7 devido à sequência de jogos.

According to a report by Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, Amiens striker Serhou Guirassy is up for sale this summer and the player’s representatives are ‘working hard’ to secure a move away – with Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal all previously being linked with a swoop. 

The Ligue 1 side were relegated from the top flight last season and now they’re reportedly looking to offload Guirassy, who finished as their top scorer with nine goals in 23 starts.

As well as the Premier League trio, Rennes also want to snap up the 6ft 2 target man and can offer him the opportunity to play Champions League football.

Amiens, as per this report, value the player at £16 million – with club chairman Daniel Levy now gifted knowledge of the eight-figure fee required to sign the attacker.

One of the shining lights in an otherwise doomed campaign for Les Licornes, Guirassy was a colossus going forward over 2019/2020 – winning an impressive 4.2 aerial duels per 90 in the league according to WhoScored.

By comparison, no player in the Spurs squad can match such impressive numbers when it comes to battles in the air – with star striker Harry Kane, whom Guirassy would serve as back up if Tottenham were to sign him, winning just 2.6.

While the 24-year-old’s record in front of goal isn’t nearly as potent, manager Jose Mourinho could do with more presence up front after Kane was ruled out through injury for huge parts of last campaign.

The Premier League is arguably a physical division and one where Guirassy could thrive, especially if he is feeding off assists from the likes of Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura.

Whether or not Tottenham officially table a bid remains to be seen, but he could prove to be a diamond in the rough.

Newcastle United are reportedly said to be rivalling fellow Premier League teams Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham United for Juventus ace Gonzalo Higuain, according to Calcio Mercato.

As per the outlet, Andrea Pirlo does not see the former Chelsea man in his plans for the new 2020/21 season and is thus keen to offload him in the summer transfer window.

The Italian giants are currently looking at the possibility of terminating his contract, or as an alternative trying to find a suitable buyer, with plenty of suitors in the top flight, however Higuain is not thought to be keen on moving to any of them.

Nevertheless, Steve Bruce could look to try and persuade him to move to St. James’ Park given his pedigree in the beautiful game.

Higuain has scored a rather impressive 306 goals in his club career so far, playing for the likes of Real Madrid, SSC Napoli and AC Milan, with a further 31 strikes while playing for Argentina, giving him a grand total of 337 goals.

However, the 32-year old did not enjoy the best of seasons while playing under Italian coach Maurizio Sarri, as he managed to score just 11 times in 44 games in all competitions (via Transfermarkt),  giving him a strike rate of one in four.

Nevertheless, currently valued at £13.5 million on the market, the striker would still provide some experience in the North East and he has shown before that he has the goal-scoring touch.

At that kind of price, Higuain may turn out to be a bit of a gem if he makes the move to the Tyneside club.
