يرى سامي قمصان مدرب الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالنادي الأهلي أن المارد الأحمر فقد نقطتين هامتين أمام بيراميدز أمس في الدوري المصري الممتاز.

الأهلي تعادل مع بيراميدز سلبيًا في المباراة التي أقيمت أمس على استاد الدفاع الجوي في الجولة العاشرة من المسابقة المحلية.

وقال سامي في تصريحات إذاعية عبر أثير راديو أون سبورت: “فقدنا 6 نقاط في المباريات الماضية لأن هناك عوامل خارجية وليست فنية ساعدت على هذا الأمر”.

وعن الاستعداد لمونديال الأندية: “الدحيل فريق جيد للغاية، ويمتلك لاعبين مميزين، ولاعبو الأهلي قادرون على الفصل بين البطولات، وأمامنا تحد كبير ومسئولية كبيرة ليست فقط لأننا النادي الأهلي ولكن لأننا نمثل قارة كبيرة نحن بطلها”.

وأوضح: “لدينا طموح في كأس العالم للأندية أن نصل إلى أعلى نقطة في البطولة، والأهم أن نفتتح مشورانا بتحقيق الفوز”.

وبسؤاله هل سيتم استبدال محمد هاني بلاعب آخر في المونديال بعد إصابته في مباراة أمس قال: “لم نحسم الأمر، واللاعب أجرى آشعة وسنرى نتيجتها، وبناء عليها سنحدد وجميع الفريق سيسافر”.

وعن أخر تطورات حالة كريم نيدفيد قال: ” اللاعب سينضم لنا عندما نعود من قطر، ومحمود متولي أمامه فترة حوالي شهر، وكذلك الأمر لمحمد محمود”.

جدير بالذكر أن الأهلي يستعد لمواجهة نظيره الدحيل القطري يوم 4 فبراير المقبل في بطولة كأس العالم لأندية والتي ستستضيفها دولة قطر.

It’s difficult to find any real dents in Jurgen Klopp’s heavy armour at Liverpool.

The Reds have definitely proved they are among the very best teams in the world by winning the 2018/19 Champions League and finishing second to Manchester City in the Premier League with a whopping 97 points.

But that doesn’t mean Klopp couldn’t strengthen his squad further this summer, and the newest report coming from El Desmarque links the Reds to Real Madrid’s Spanish starlet Marco Asensio.

If the outlet is to be believed, the Reds are willing to splash around €75M (£67.4m) to land the highly-rated 23 year-old to reinforce their team.

But despite his impressive trophy haul and reputation, Asensio doesn’t seem to be an extremely wanted, or even respected, player among the Kop faithful.

Many of them are urging the club not to make the mistake of chasing this starlet as they believe his quality to be subpar, regardless of the hype.

Late last week it was reported that Aston Villa were on the verge of landing Manchester City’s Douglas Luiz.

Per The Telegraph, City and Villa had agreed a fee of £15m for the Brazilian who despite potentially joining permanently, will have a buyback clause put in the deal.

The newspaper specified that the 21-year-old has previously had work permit issues, meaning he had to leave the Manchester club on loan for Girona.

However, despite never appearing for Pep Guardiola’s first team, he starred at times in La Liga last term.

On the chalkboard

Villa have been in the market for a host of defensive midfielders this summer with Kalvin Phillips seemingly top of their list.

However, they’ve also been targeting Club Brugge’s Marvelous Nakamba and Angers’ Baptiste Santamaria.

Yet, Douglas arguably seems one of the most attractive in the way he plays out of all of them. Capable defensively, winning 1.5 tackles per game, he also made 1 dribble on average per match.

It’s in the big games where he had a huge difference last term and it’s arguably an area that Villa fans can look forward to him performing to a high standard in most.

In 2018/19, Douglas struggled for consistency at times but he saved two of his star performances for against the might of Real Madrid and Sevilla.

Against the former, he was simply outstanding in a shock 2-1 win for Girona.

Playing in front of the back four, he ended the match with a pass percentage of 91%, made five dribbles, one tackle, a solitary interception and three clearances.

His all-round game was in evidence as he also managed a shot on goal, too.

Versus Sevilla, meanwhile, Douglas made four successful challenges, completed two dribbles whilst also making the same number of clearances and interceptions as they won 1-0 in April.

In the Premier League next season, the Villans could have a number of tough games where they resort to soaking up the pressure.

Villa are a passing team after completing 79.8% of them as a team on average in the Championship last season, so he would fit the bill in that regard, but as far as big games go he also looks extremely solid.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to back manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Following the club’s pre-season victory over Real Madrid in the Audi Cup, Pochettino expressed his frustrations at consistently being asked about transfers throughout the summer.

He insisted that he does not have control of the club’s dealings and that his job title should be changed from manager to coach.

Indeed, the club have been linked with the likes of Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso, along with Juventus’ Paulo Dybala.

However, they have thus far only signed Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and Jack Clarke from Leeds United, though the latter has been loaned back to the Championship club.

And fans are keen to see Pochettino backed in the transfer market, particularly with the deadline looming.

Indeed, the English transfer window shuts next Thursday, with Spurs set to play Aston Villa two days later in their opening Premier League fixture of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur have made a new bid worth €65m (£59.9m) for Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes, per The Daily Mail.

What’s the word?

Spurs, the report states, have had two bids for Fernandes rejected already, of values of €45m (£41.5m) and €50m (£46.1m).

Sporting have now rejected this bid too, with Spurs offering €55m (£50.7m) up front in addition to €10m (£9.2m) in add-ons.

Sporting value Fernandes at €70m (£64.6m), meaning that the north London club are currently £4.7m short of the required sum.

The Mail also claims that Spurs have yet to decide whether or not they should make another offer, with the Premier League’s transfer window closing on Thursday.

Eriksen’s replacement

Spurs have to buy an attacking midfielder before the transfer deadline.

There remains uncertainty over the future of Christian Eriksen, who has expressed a desire to take on a fresh challenge.

Links with Manchester United have come to nothing, per reports, but Eriksen is said to remain hopeful of sealing a move to Spain.

The Liga transfer window is open until the end of the month and Spurs cannot afford to be left short in the position if an exit is agreed for the Dane after the English window closes.

Thus, chairman Daniel Levy simply has to bring in reinforcements.

Sources have confirmed that the club are also interested in Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso and Juventus’ Paulo Dybala, but it seems as though they are an inch away from striking an agreement with Fernandes, who scored 32 goals in all competitions last season.

They should do all they can to get it over the line. £4.7m is not enough to miss the chance to land such a talented playmaker.
